What’s something you think future generations will romanticize about this era?

My daughter in Macoris, July 2026. After a bountiful meal centered around perfectly prepared chivo, we loaded up a 4-car caravan back to the campo in Villa Tapia.

A list inspired by 🔥🔥🔥OK COOL’s Annual Trend Report Survey🔥🔥🔥 [linked here], I am starting a list I hope to add to as inspiration and conversations strike:

  • Websites made for humans to read and navigate

  • The brackish waters of 5 generations in the workforce, over half of whom didn’t grow up online [Silent, Boomer, X, Millennial, Z]

  • Writing without AI influencing how we write

  • Speaking without AI influencing how we think

  • The last vestiges of pre-pandemic offline work culture

  • Life before we were all unpaid, non-consenting extras in the movies everyone now shoots about their lives

  • Before side hustles became a portfolio to make up the main hustle

What I will romanticize about this era (personally):

  • My toddler toddling

  • My daughter’s pronunciations of: gapkin, blanklet, hangaburrr, snall

  • Our close unit of 3, taking on flights and life one family gathering, adventure, and laundry bag at a time
