Yeasayer/MGMT Show in DC… needs your help!!!

So, I am on a three-way IM this morning (that’s the way we roll at New Media Strategies… be jealous) and we are discussing the upcoming Show at Black Cat here in DC. We have been trying to get tickets since last week, lead by Patrick Wixted, and it has been sold out! I know, cry me a river… shows get sold out all the time… but hear me out on this one.

  1. GOAL: Black Cat can move it upstairs and provide more space for everyone.

  2. EVERYONE: It is not just me and 2 NMS friends that are wanting to rush the gates on this… DC Music Blog Darling, Bright Young Things, has already posted on it and I feel a wave of other posts coming soon.

  3. SOCIAL MEDIA: The Facebook group for this is growing (and who doesn’t like to join a Facebook Group that is growing?) … My co-worker Brian Devine and I have also been using our Twitter accounts to get the word out.

Join the cause as either a fan, or as a lover of social media as it affects the real world. Move the needle, make it happen!

Thanks in advance  L.

UPDATE 1: Patrick Wixted has covered it too! Awesomeness.

UPDATE 2: Activists U*N*I*T*E over at “Music As I See It”

UPDATE 3: DCist picks up our buzz (links to Patrick Wixted and Andre) via Brian Devine’s email to them. Talk about a New Media Strategy - and they aren’t even a client. We just *heart* them. Just imagine what we do for the clients that pay us!

UPDATE 4: The hits just keep on rolling… Rogo 2000 joins arms and adds a vid from Letterman and this editorial note: I’ve been skeptical of MGMT, but their recent performance on Letterman may have convinced me to give them another chance.

UPDATE 5: Washington City Paper has gotten hip to the buzz, even if they just cherry picked it from DCist, they are at least listening to the grasstops on this one!
